Idea inspiration
Before AI arrived in the public spotlight in late 2022, the idea that anyone could have meaningfully consented to having their work included in a dataset, or anything related to AI, is so absurd that I had to try and make fun of it in some form.
Art inspiration
This is the first “in-person” appearance of AI Corp, with many more to come. At the moment I don’t intend to re-use this particular representative of AI Corp, it will likely be someone different every time (probably branded with the cog icon).
I also considered whether AI Corp could appear in a shadowy “SEELE” form, like this –
– but having given it some further thought, I want them to appear as the humans that they are.
Challenges
I knew what I wanted to make fun of this time, but it is still a complex idea to put into a short gag and I probably overcooked it this time.
Rewards
It is really fun to draw intense close-ups. Panel 4 of this comic reminds me a lot of panel 6 of this comic, which I also enjoyed a lot.
