Idea inspiration
With all we have seen from AI already, how long until an AI “personality” can replace Sesame Street as a babysitter, and do a much better job of it? At this point is it even far fetched to believe that it could do a better job at having conversations like this than a lot of parents?
Art inspiration
The pink glow around AI chan is starting to grow on me. I added it to the first comic (“AI chan tells a story”) just to make it less monochrome but I think it’s a good match with the character. I had a lot of fun with it in panel 4, and just a lot of fun with that panel in general.
Other than special panels like that, my process for making these is getting faster and more streamlined, which is nice.
Challenges
I was tossing around some names for “AI Corp” but went with the most straightforward option imaginable. This won’t be the last we hear of them …
Rewards
When I thumbnailed this one, I started to realise that this character could become a recurring one. Now the inspiration for AI chan comics is outpacing my ability to draw them, and the developments in AI are outpacing my ability to come up with ideas.
Eight panels is frankly a lot for me so I’m glad to have gotten this one over the line.
