Much as Google and Wikipedia have changed our everyday lives by being able to access information in real time, I was thinking about how much more complicated this could get with an AI assistant who is able to do so much more.
Art inspiration
Two new things I was trying this time – hair highlights (very difficult) and trying to depict AI chan as visible to one person but not the other. I went with low opacity lineart and the pink glow I have been using on other comics. Not entirely sold on whether it works, let me know what you think!
Challenges
One of the biggest challenges was actually coming up with the nonsense that is provided by AI chan for the sake of argument. Unsurprisingly this challenge was in large part resolved by asking ChatGPT.
Is it clear whether the humans are desperately seeking AI chan’s help, or would some think that the AI chans are intervening in the conversation, unsolicited? This is a clarity issue that I don’t think I landed very well.
These ideas are getting longer and longer, which is a very common tendency of mine and a bit concerning.
Rewards
I think this one turned out pretty well in the end. It’s a simple idea but there was a bit of work in setting it up.
